Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BACKROOM (the “Software”), a macOS application made by Elijah Studio, Ariana, Tunisia (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Software you agree to them.

1. Purchases and our reseller

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, invoicing and sales tax are handled by Paddle under the Paddle Buyer Terms.

2. Accounts and trial

You need an account to use the Software. Every account gets a free 3-day trial with full features, starting the first time you sign in on your Mac; no payment details are required. One trial per person.

3. Licence

While your plan is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software on one Mac at a time. You may move the licence to another Mac from inside the app. You may not resell, share, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the licensing of the Software.

4. Plans

Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the app (Account › Manage billing); you keep access until the end of the paid period. Lifetime is a one-time payment for the current major version and its updates for as long as we develop the Software.

5. Your content

Your footage, audio and project files stay on your Mac. The Software reads and writes project files locally; we do not upload or claim any rights to your content.

6. Offline use

The Software checks your licence periodically and keeps working offline for up to 7 days, never beyond your paid period.

7. Warranty and liability

The Software is provided “as is”. Always keep backups of your projects. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend accounts that break these terms (for example, sharing or cracking licences). You may delete your account at any time by emailing us.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
